At our Forest Rd garden we recently planted a dwarf red maple and two Kousa dogwoods.
These replace three trees lost during the 2019 tornado.  Jan, Gary, Ann and Ed teamed up to get it done.
Special thanks to Ann for donating the trees!

These Saguaro cacti were started from seed 30 years ago by one of our club members.  Care is easy: they are immersed in water overnight 3 times a year. They are kept indoors to avoid getting too much water.  In their natural habitat they flower at age 40 and grow an arm at age 75. An unusual houseplant!  Click to enlarge.

The Sergeant Sean M. Gannon Memorial Songbird Sanctuary, located adjacent to the St. Pius X church  parking lot, was recently dedicated and is now open to the public.  The sanctuary was created by St. Pius X parish, St. Pius X School, Yarmouth Police Department and Orenda Wildlife Land Trust.  Along with many other members of our community, The Garden Club of Yarmouth is privileged to have participated in creating this special place.
